Junior Kindergarten – Grade 1
My name is Kathryn Coish. I have been a part of the student-directed learning program since 2007 and have been a teacher for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 4 students for 6 years.
Teaching children has been a dream of mine sinceI was a little girl. My goal each year is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students, where they can utilize their strengths, interests, and talents to be successful in all areas of their schooling. There is nothing more rewarding than looking around your classroom and seeing all of your students completely engaged in what they are doing and knowing that they love being at school.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Brad, for 9 years. We have no children (yet) but have a Shetland Sheepdog named Ricky that we love dearly. We are originally from Newfoundland, but Calgary has been our home for the past 9 years. In my free time, I enjoy taking long drives with my husband, playing with my dogs, spending time with friends, watching movies and too much tv, going to restaurants, and reading books (and reviews about books).
I am excited to continue the student-directed learning program in my classroom at Summit West Independent School!
